PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Hello Members & Friends of the Platinium-Level NJ chapter of ASSP

It is with a sense of hope and anticipation that I greet you despite the unsettling and life altering circumstances we find ourselves in the wake of COVID-19. This Second Volume of the Spring 2020 Newsletter will serve to not only bring you up-to-date on the pandemic with informational resources, but how as a chapter, we are striving to keep you engaged as valued members of this organization.

As you can surmise, all of our plans to meet face to face at chapter meetings and professional development conferences as well as at social events have been precluded. In light of this, we are turning to a familiar technology that was until recently only widely used and is now being used Universally: The Free Webinar!

In the seventy or so days we have remaining in the chapter year, we have planned and coordinated in collaboration with the National Capital Chapter (NCC) of ASSP and the University of Alabama at Birmingham, a series of free webinars on a wide-ranging selection of topics that is sure to excite the interest of safety practitioners of every stripe and origin. Scroll down to register or for more information. You can also visit our website nj.assp.org/events.

Additionally, in keeping with our values of teamwork, solidarity, and unity of purpose, we are also offering an opportunity for our NJASSP families to come together and show how they're persevering in the new normal of social-distancing and working from home through the medium of art via a poster contest for children in grades K-12.

We want you to know that you are not alone in this time of existential uncertainty and welcome your feedback on how we can serve and support you professionally as best we can. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us at info@nj.assp.org.

Be well, stay healthy, and mind your distance. We look forward to being reunited with you at the most optimal opportunity.

Fraternally yours,
