EHS Manager

This is a FULL-TIME position as an employee of our client, and REQUIRES commuting to the New Providence, NJ area.  This position CANNOT be worked from a remote setting; HOWEVER, relocation assistance within the US is available.

What you will be doing

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, management and overall direction and oversight of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs, strategy, along with related organizational performance standards to support TWO facilities in NJ.

You will work alongside other site management and serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for EHS related matters. 

You will guide, coach, mentor and support all site employees on how to protect themselves, each other and company assets in the most productive and efficient manner.

Partial List of Minimum Requirements (Must have ALL listed to be considered)

  • Must have the ability to commute to New Providence, NJ on a daily basis.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the US, employer sponsorship is not available.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College / University in EHS, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Management or related discipline
  • Five (5) or more years of EHS management experience, preferably in pharmaceutical or chemical environments
  • Demonstrated success managing multi-media environmental programs
  • Demonstrated success designing and conducting employee training programs
  • Demonstrated success in creating auditing systems, conducting audits and handling remediation issues
  • Demonstrated knowledge of PHA tools

Partial List of Major Responsibilities

  • Partner with plant and operations leadership and serve as SME regarding interpretation and application of federal, state and local EHS regulations.
  • Align corporate and local EHS goals and strategies.
  • Lead employee training programs regarding EHS behaviors and compliance.
  • Lead EHS audits, inspections and incident investigations developing remediation plans as needed.
  • Lead multi-media environmental compliance including, but not limited to: Water (SPCC, waste, storm); Waste; Air (internal respiratory and external emissions)
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with federal, state and local regulators.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement initiative regarding EHS policies and programs.
  • Manage budgetary responsibilities.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with all relevant company policies and federal, state and local EHS reporting regulations.
