Chapter Election Platform Statement – Secretary Candidate, Louise E. Vallee

NJ ASSE Secretary Candidate, Louise E. Vallee

I am excited about the opportunity to serve the New Jersey ASSE chapter as Secretary for the upcoming 2015-2016 term. ASSE is the strategic leader for our safety profession and offers unparalleled opportunities for skill development, issue impact, networking, career advancement, and mentoring. The NJ chapter is one of ASSE’s largest and has a long history of notable leadership, educational, and charitable contributions. ASSE’s communication and meeting/events recordkeeping are a key organizational cornerstone and I am honored to be considered for continuation of these tasks for the benefit of NJ ASSE and membership.  I commit to meeting attendance and enthusiastic fulfillment of all assigned tasks.

I am current NJ ASSE Regulatory Affairs and Environmental Chair and contribute to the monthly newsletter, so important to keeping members apprised of the latest safety developments and resources.  I am current chair of the ASSE WISE Mentoring Program which has grown to nearly 100 program participants.  I will be speaking at Safety 2015 this year on one of my favorite topics – Sustainability.  I am finishing up my current term as Lehigh Valley AIHA president and am a past president of NJ AIHA.  I enjoy collaboration on strategic professional advancement.

My experience includes 30 years in insurance loss prevention with Casualty emphasis. I am currently Home Office Risk Engineering Technical Director for Crum and Forster in Morristown, NJ.  My current scope of work includes business objective aligned evaluations and staff and service program development in workers’ compensation, liability/umbrella, human services, fleet/auto, and construction.  I am a CSP, CIH, and CPE.  I hold an MS in Industrial Hygiene from the Harvard School of Public Health and a BS in Environmental Science from UMass. I co-authored a Professional Safety article, “Can You Hear Me Mow”, on hearing conservation in 2010. I look forward to the opportunity to work with other ASSE Board members to serve membership.
